Other gods were gods of agriculture, hunting wine, wealth, sea, home, and also fires. The gods were used to explain a certain phenomena for example there was a head god for protection in Greece known as Zeus while that of the Romans was Jupiter, a good of war for the Greek was Ares for Romans it was mars, there was also a mother god called Hera by Greeks and juno by Romans. Events occurring in this communities were explained in terms of gods and heroes such were wars famine harvests birth death, festivals among others.
There are some countries with deep mythical history for example Greece, the Romans, Japanese ,Chinese ,Egyptians and Indians. Heroes and gods are associated with creation, death, wars, love, betrayal and loyalty. So much of its damage ouput is bound to innate stats like CB and BvI, and its survivability parameters are all good enough/too bad to bother with(hp+armor/MD) that you dont really need to worry about making any of them better, whereas going warsphinx or horse without investing in your yellow line can become a problem.Heroes and gods are a common feature in all societies they are highly respected and feared, stories of their actions and deeds are passed down to future generations through myths which are tales and stories of the past. I also think it's worth mentioning that the chariot is a better mount choice if you arent investing in settras personal combat skills. Chariot is hyper specialized, but will rake in a lot more kills if used correctly against its intended target of infantry, and given the prevalence of infantry in campaign, that makes it stupidly powerful. The real choice is sphinx vs chariot in campaign. If youre looking to lord snipe, the low mass of the horse will honestly betray you a lot of the time, and once again, TK have a lot of better lord sniping alternatives. In campaign, I don't really see the point of bringing a horse for settra(i think its a stellar choice in MP actually), since the main purpose is to let him keep his AL bonus, but in campaign large is super rare to begin with, and TK have a plethora of AL options already. The sphinx is good in a general, not bad at anything sense. As others have said they're both completely equal choices in singleplayer. But it suffers poorly at the start of sieges incomparison to the Sphinx. You come behind the enemy and attack vertically most often because there's where you get the least total mass but get a ♥♥♥♥ ton of kills. People often bring a second chariot unit to help bail him out incase he does get stuck though. If you come in from a good angle you will absolutely plow completey through a unit and rack up obscene amount of kills you'd never get from the Sphinx. The chariot also loses a lot less velocity plowing through units and is insanely fast. They're both absolutely equal choices with. The chariot of the gods has the third highest chariot mass (only behind the Plague Furance and Screaming Bell) in the game and the horses pulling it have the second highest mass of chariot pulling units.
I'm not using mods and would sooner not pay SP for a mount I won't use. The sphinx does give you a ton of HP and armour so looks kind of viable, but unless I'm missing something the chariot would get bogged down too much without supporting forces.
Largely you do just want to survive long enough in combat for your vortices (sword of khaine and skullstorm) to regen.
